Shelly's Group

Attending church was never a thrilling concept for me. I didn’t feel much personal compulsion to go. These feelings really hit home when I worked as a nanny. The boy I was watching said his teacher (he attended a Christian school) told him heaven would be like church, only you never leave. He was pretty horrified at that possibility, and I didn’t blame him!

Then God did some pretty cool things. Along with several friends I connected with the Timothy Network. The relationships within our group blossomed as we got to know each other and the Lord. It wasn’t long before these friendships were making a big impact on my life. Consequently, as I started seeing these individuals at church, I began to enjoy church more. The concept of building intentional Christ-centered relationships (with the ultimate intention of discipling others) broadened my thinking!

My group is now in a multiplying phase. More Timothy Network “triads” (groups of three) are forming as each of us goes out to disciple others. It hasn’t always been perfect, but I now have a better idea of what heaven looks like. It looks like my dear group of friends, sitting together, taking up 2 or 3 rows in the balcony, praising God and worshiping the Holy and Awesome One that loves us so much more than we deserve.
